Christmas begins in Rio Linda on Saturday, December 11th with three community events that promise to kick your Christmas spirit into high gear, including the return of the 6th Annual Rio Linda Elverta Christmas Light Parade.
At 8am, the Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce hosts the Annual Breakfast with Santa at the Rio Linda Community Center at 810 Oak Lane in Rio Linda. There will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, and drinks. Come down for breakfast and bring the kids to see Santa and kick off the Christmas season right. Breakfast will be served from 8am to 11:30am.
Then, beginning at 9am, and staying open until 5pm, Tonia Silva and the merchants at 825 M Street will host a Holiday Bazaar with local shopping, kids crafts, a taco truck, and a lot of fun. This event is a great place to stop by after you have breakfast with Santa at the Depot Building. Spend the day in Downtown Rio Linda, get your Christmas shopping done, shop local vendors. Some vendors will stay open during the parade as well.
We are proud to share with you that the community of Rio Linda and Elverta will once again be presenting the 6th annual Christmas Light Parade. At 6pm, the Rio Linda Elverta Christmas Light Parade will kick off from Westside Park and will travel along Rio Linda’s “Main Street” (M Street) from Westside Park on West 2nd Street all the way down to the MarVal Plaza parking lot. As traditional as ever.
We will have marching bands, fire trucks, floats, horsemen, and Santa himself rolling down M Street.
We will also have a very special guest Grand Marshall, who will be announced in the coming days.
Parade Awards will be presented immediately following the Parade in Troy Park at 7th and M Street across from Nuway Market.
This is shaping up to be the best year yet, and we look forward to your support and participation!
