Sacramento County DA Crime Lab Youth Shadow Day

The District Attorney’s Office invites students to job shadow professionals from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Crime Lab. Meet Criminalists that are experts in the various fields of forensic science.

The program is being offered virtually. Enrollment is open to current Sacramento County high school students (incoming 9th – 12th graders).

  • Learn the importance of evidence preservation and chain of custody
  • Compare cartridge casings in our firearms section
  • Review crime scene investigations and DNA comparisons
  • Experience how TRACE cases are examined

WHEN: Two Dates: Friday, July 15, 2022 or July 22, 2022

WHERE: Virtually – broadcasted live from the crime lab

TIME: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Space is limited to 60 students each session and on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please register early.
